[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] On KBS 2TV variety show 'New Release Pyeonstorang,' broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu developed the so-called 'Kkokko-bap (Kkokko Deopbap)' and succeeded in winning his fifth victory.
On the 14th broadcast of KBS 2TV's 'New Release Pyeonstorang,' the results of the fifth menu competition themed on domestic chicken were revealed. The final winner of the day was Lee Kyung-kyu.
The first person to present a menu that day was Lee Young-ja, a four-time winner. Lee Young-ja introduced 'Charcoal Barbecue Chicken Bar,' made by putting dough using various parts of chicken into an ice cream mold and baking it, but received somewhat disappointing evaluations from the judging panel.
Next, third-time winner Jung Il-woo used b?chamel sauce to stir-fry chicken and mushrooms, wrapped it in a tortilla, baked it, and topped it with tangerines to complete the 'Tangerine Chicken Bake.'
The judging panel tasted Jung Il-woo's dish and praised it, saying "He knows how to capture the flavor," and ultimately Jung Il-woo defeated Lee Young-ja.
Afterwards, Jung Il-woo chose Lee Kyung-kyu as his opponent for the competition.
Lee Kyung-kyu developed a rice bowl topped with chicken seasoned in two different flavors. He added his homemade sauce 'Maramayo' to complete the Kkokko-bap (Kkokko Deopbap). The menu judging panel highly praised the dish, saying "He has returned," and "The Maramayo sauce is a masterstroke," and Lee Kyung-kyu defeated Jung Il-woo to win.
Subsequently, Lee Kyung-kyu defeated Lee Yu-ri and Lee Jung-hyun to claim the final victory and the honor of the fifth released menu.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's 'New Release Pyeonstorang' is a variety show where six stars develop menus that are too good to eat alone, reveal them, and the winning menu through the judging panel's evaluation is actually released in convenience stores.
