Wife and Two Children Found in Master Bedroom
Police Suspect Family Murder Followed by Suicide Attempt
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Four members of a family were found dead in an apartment in Mokdong, Seoul. The police believe the husband killed his family before taking his own life and have launched an investigation.
The Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 13th at 8:20 a.m. that husband A (35, Korean medicine doctor), wife B (42, Korean medicine doctor), and their two children were found dead in an apartment in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The children were a 5-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter.
The police responded to a report that husband A had jumped to his death from the apartment that morning. Upon investigating, they went to A’s residence on the 15th floor and found wife B and the children deceased inside.
At the time of discovery, the wife and children were reportedly lying neatly on the master bedroom bed.
The police also confirmed an eight-page suicide note written by A inside the house.
A was known to have experienced conflicts with wife B and others due to increasing debts incurred during the recent operation of his Korean medicine clinic.
It is presumed that A jumped out of the window of a small room.
The police plan to conduct autopsies on the deceased to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
