The Forbes Travel Guide is a globally authoritative evaluation institution that selects and announces ratings for hotels, restaurants, and spas. It started in 1958 as the 'Mobil Travel Guide' and is celebrating its 62nd anniversary this year. It is known as the origin of the global 5-star hotel system. It applies excellent service and facility standards valued in the global tourism industry and evaluates based on about 900 evaluation criteria. Seoul Shilla Hotel, which opened in 1979 and is celebrating its 41st anniversary this year, has built a reputation as a representative domestic hotel by successfully hosting national events and holds top-level competitiveness in various hotel operation indicators such as room occupancy rate and average revenue per room. In particular, the Korean restaurant 'La Yeon' is the only domestic hotel restaurant selected for the La Liste Top 150 and Michelin 3-star.
Seoul Shilla Hotel has successfully hosted global events such as the Seoul Olympic Headquarters Hotel, IOC Seoul General Assembly, FIFA official VIP hotel, Davos World Economic Forum, and the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit. With the room renovation in 2013, it also has luxury hotel facilities including rooms, restaurants, banquet halls, and an outdoor swimming pool.
Shilla Hotel plans to leap into a global hotel this year based on its hotel competitiveness. It plans to open 'Shilla Monogram' in Da Nang, Vietnam, as early as March, and then expand to more than 10 overseas locations including the United States, Southeast Asia, and China to become a global hotel.
