Gangdong-gu 'Visiting Lifelong Learning, Anyone Can Learn School' Participant Teams Recruitment

Active Learning Support to Study Desired Fields Without Time and Place Constraints... Applications Open Until the 14th

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is recruiting participating teams for the ‘Anyone Can Learn School,’ where anyone from toddlers to seniors can learn the subjects they want, until the 14th.

‘Anyone Can Learn School’ is the new name for the ‘Learning Calling System’ that the district has been operating since 2012. The name was changed this year to better reflect the project’s purpose of helping residents plan and learn the fields they want to study on their own.

If a team consisting of one instructor and at least seven Gangdong-gu residents plans and applies for a course, the district will support the instructor’s fee up to 500,000 KRW. Unlike passive learning where learners have to pay and go to a specific place, this program allows residents to actively decide the location, time, and topic for learning.

This recruitment targets a total of 45 teams: 40 teams for general residents forming teams of one instructor and at least seven residents, and 5 teams for institutions such as multicultural families, people with disabilities, and dementia senior care centers.

Selected teams will operate the ‘Anyone Can Learn School’ from March to June for four months, planning and participating freely without restrictions on days or times.

Learning topics cover all fields including physical education, humanities, culture and arts, languages, and crafts. However, private education and education that may infringe on the market are excluded.

Applications for ‘Anyone Can Learn School’ are accepted until the 14th. First, lecture plans will be evaluated, followed by interviews to confirm lecture plans with learner representatives or instructors, and the final learning teams will be selected.
