[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Comedian Jung Sun-hee mentioned her late husband Ahn Jae-hwan and her friend Choi Jin-sil.
On the 10th, Jung Sun-hee appeared on the SBS Plus variety show 'Kim Soo-mi's Do You Eat Well?'
In the broadcast, Jung Sun-hee recalled her husband Ahn Jae-hwan, who took his own life. Jung said, "It has been 12 years since (Ahn Jae-hwan passed away). Even now, I cannot forget any of the memories."
When asked by the MC if she had any strange premonitions, Jung replied, "I did. Since our dating days, he often borrowed money from me. There were several cycles of borrowing and repaying. That made me uneasy. But I loved him too much to worry about that. I was confident that everything could be resolved because I was working a lot at the time. That was my arrogance."
She added, "I never imagined my husband would return in that state. Even the day before he took the extreme step, we quarreled over money."
Jung Sun-hee lost her husband and, just a month later, her close friend and actress Choi Jin-sil also passed away. She said, "Choi Jin-sil's children, Hwan-hee and Jun-hee, matured quickly, which makes my heart ache even more. They seem more grown-up than I am."
After losing her husband and friend, Jung took a break for about seven months. When she returned after seven months, she faced public criticism. Regarding this, Jung said, "I returned to radio after seven months. The public criticized me for returning too soon. But I had no choice. Because of debt, my house was auctioned off. I had no money left. I felt like I would die if I didn't do something."
She continued, "I usually don't read malicious comments. But after looking at them for three days, I thought I should die. When I looked in the mirror, there was a monster, not me. According to those people, I was a monster. I thought everyone was waiting for my death."
