'Happiness Is Always Found in Small and Simple Things' Selected as This Year's Sentence by Kyobo Bookstore

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Kyobo Bookstore announced on the 10th that it has selected "Happiness is always found in small and simple things" as the sentence of the year.

"Happiness is always found in small and simple things" is a sentence excerpted from poet Jang Seok-ju's book published last year, Things That Make Us Happy (Eulyu Munhwasa).

Kyobo Bookstore, together with readers and publishers, selected the "sentence of the year"?short but memorable sentences within 50 characters?from books published last year.

By November 20th of last year, about 200 sentences were submitted. Kyobo Bookstore shortlisted around 30 sentences through the first selection process and then finalized 12 sentences through an internal staff vote.

From December 17th last year to January 5th this year, customer voting was conducted via the Kyobo Bookstore online event page for the 12 sentences. A total of about 15,000 readers participated, and with 5,600 votes, the sentence by poet Jang Seok-ju received the most votes and was selected as the "sentence of the year."

The sentence "Happiness is always found in small and simple things," selected as the "sentence of the year," will be printed on Kyobo Bookstore shopping bags and distributed starting from the 10th. Additionally, a special exhibition of the 12 sentences voted on by customers is currently being held at the Gwanghwamun branch.
