Korea Yakult Expands Fermented Milk Lineup... Introduces 4 New Products

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Sunghye] Korea Yakult announced on the 10th that it is expanding its fermented milk lineup by launching four new products.

The new products include the functional kids' fermented milk "I Will" and "Jangcare Project MPRO3 Pear & Quince Mild (hereafter MPRO3 Mild)" to strengthen the stomach, intestine, and liver portfolio.

"I Will" is a newly planned product for growing children. It features the patented probiotic 'HP7,' verified through the 'Helicobacter Project Will.' The sugar content is significantly reduced compared to existing company products. Additionally, it contains the immune-related patented probiotic ‘HY7712,’ zinc, three types of vitamins, and calcium. It has received the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's 'Children's Preferred Food Quality Certification' and includes an eco-friendly straw to consider the environment.

MPRO3 Mild is an extended version of 'MPRO3,' launched in February last year. It features a change in raw material composition and the addition of 'pear' and 'quince' to create a refreshing and smooth taste. MPRO3, introduced in February last year, was the first product in Korea to combine 'probiotics' and 'prebiotics' in one bottle with a dual formulation concept. It surpassed 30 million units in cumulative sales within six months of launch.

The liquid product lineup will also be reorganized. The brands previously divided into 'Yakult' and the low-sugar product 'Yakult Light' will be unified under 'Yakult Light.' This product reduces sugar content and calories compared to regular Yakult. It adds the patented probiotic ‘HY7712’ developed by Korea Yakult and increases the xylitol content by 1.8 times. The price will be adjusted from the existing 180 won to 200 won.

A fermented milk product with enhanced vitamins will also be released. 'Multivita Probiotics' contains 50 billion probiotics along with 10 types of vitamins and 9 essential amino acids that are easily deficient in busy daily life in one bottle. In particular, it meets the daily recommended intake for four vitamins (Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, and folic acid).

Byun Gyeong-gu, Marketing Director at Korea Yakult, said, “We have promoted a product portfolio reorganization to strengthen market competitiveness, including applying the patented probiotic ‘HY2782’ to all products,” adding, “We will continue to solidify our position as a leading probiotics company with innovative products tailored to consumer lifestyles.”
