[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] On the 8th, in the second part of the 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend' Ha Chunhwa & Hyun Chul episode, Kim Kyungho and Kwak Donghyun claimed the final victory.
Appearing first that day, Kim Kyungho and Kwak Donghyun presented 'Yeongam Arirang' with intense rock sounds and dazzling high notes, receiving praise from Joo Haknyeon who said, "It was such a spine-tingling stage."
The second stage was musical star Choi Jungwon. She performed Hyun Chul's 'Love Must Be a Butterfly' with dynamic dance and vocal skills, earning comments like "an actor who enjoys the stage" and "a wonderful stage with a palpable aura," especially receiving high praise from Hyun Chul himself, who said it was an impressive performance.
The third performer was singer-songwriter Choi Yegun, who sang Hyun Chul's 'Name Tag of Love.' She touched hearts by saying that her mother was happier than anyone else about her appearance on 'Immortal Songs,' calling it an opportunity to show filial piety. Then, she delivered a stage full of strong charisma, prompting Joo Haknyeon to comment, "I thought she was a kind older sister, but she turned out to be a fierce one."
The fourth stage was taken by Nabi, who said she prepared Hyun Chul's 'My Heart is Like a Star,' choosing it because Hyun Chul is a great star in the music industry. Following her, Baek Cheonggang, making his first trot challenge, energetically performed Hyun Chul's 'Bongseonhwa Yeonjeong,' concluding the fifth stage.
Facing Kim Kyungho and Kwak Donghyun, who had won four consecutive times in a row against Choi Jungwon, Choi Yegun, Nabi, and Baek Cheonggang, the final stage was performed by Hong Kyungmin. Hong Kyungmin chose Ha Chunhwa's 'Well Done, Well Done,' and Hyun Jingyeon commented that it felt like watching a Madangnori (traditional Korean outdoor play), while Ha Chunhwa praised it as a performance only Hong Kyungmin could deliver.
However, Kim Kyungho and Kwak Donghyun defeated even the last challenger Hong Kyungmin, sweeping all contestants and becoming the final winners.
KBS2's entertainment program 'Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend' airs every Saturday at 6:05 PM.
