[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The 13th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) has occurred in Vietnam.


According to local Vietnamese media and foreign news on the 8th, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health announced the day before that a 29-year-old Vietnamese woman was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus.


The Ministry of Health explained that the woman remains in a stable condition despite the infection and has not yet shown any related symptoms.


The woman is one of the employees of a Japanese company in Vinh Phuc Province, northern Vietnam. This company recently sent eight employees to Wuhan for training for two months.


The trained employees returned together from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, through Hanoi Airport, Vietnam, on the 17th of last month, and among them, five were consecutively confirmed to have the novel coronavirus starting from the 30th of last month.


On the 6th, two family members of the confirmed employees of this company were also confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus.


The Ministry of Health explained that among the 13 confirmed novel coronavirus patients in Vietnam so far, nine cases have occurred in Vinh Phuc Province in the north.
