March Mukho Departure Ulleungdo Reservation Customers Receive Free Dokdo Entry Benefit
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Yong-jun, Travel Specialist] Ulleungdo is called the "Island of 3 Nos and 5 Manys." The 3 Nos mean no thieves, no pollution, and no snakes, while the 5 Manys refer to the abundance of juniper trees, wind, beauties, water, and stones. The island’s stunning natural environment and excellent air quality alone make traveling to Ulleungdo worthwhile.
Pristine Ulleungdo is making every effort to block and prevent the influx of the novel coronavirus. Thermal imaging cameras have been installed at the passenger ferry terminal, the gateway to Ulleung County, and additional temperature checks are conducted on visitors detected with a fever to maintain a safe travel destination free from the new virus.
Kim Byung-su, the governor of Ulleung County, said, "Until the COVID-19 situation ends, we will mobilize all administrative resources to completely prevent any patient occurrence, while also ensuring that we do not neglect hospitality so that many tourists can visit the clean Ulleungdo."
Treasure Island Tour, a comprehensive travel company operated by KMH Group (Chairman Choi Sang-joo), has also launched various travel packages that allow visitors to enjoy the pristine Ulleungdo in a practical and sophisticated way.
Departures are available nationwide from Seoul, Gyeongsang region, Honam region, and more, with round-trip shuttle buses provided from gathering points to the passenger ferry terminal for added convenience. Additionally, meaningful courses are offered that include the opportunity to visit Dokdo, our territory. For the March Mukho departure package, a free Dokdo landing event is currently underway.
Travelers can enjoy the expansive Ulleungdo sea and high-quality air while visiting the island’s largest port, Jeodong Port, Ulleungdo’s top scenic spot Bongnae Waterfall, and Naesujeon Observatory, where you can greet the sun earlier than anywhere except Dokdo.
The Treasure Island Tour Ulleungdo travel package includes entrance fees to tourist sites such as Bongnae Waterfall, round-trip ferry fares, accommodations, and offers a variety of meals including mussel rice and squid innards soup, enriching the travel experience.
Meanwhile, Treasure Island Tour has also launched a Jeju Dark Tourism package that visits painful historical sites. Travelers can follow the footsteps of the March 1st Movement, remnants of Japanese colonial rule, and the truth of the Jeju April 3 Incident, gaining opportunities for reflection and learning.
Currently, Jeju Island has temporarily suspended the 'visa-free entry system' to block the coronavirus, effectively restricting the entry of Chinese tourists.
