[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Doo-kwan on the 30th for officially declaring his candidacy for the April 15 general election in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, calling him a "political migratory bird who changes nests every election season."
In a post on his Facebook that day, former professor Jin wrote, "Kim Doo-kwan has moved his nest from Gimpo to Yangsan," adding, "These are people who think they can throw away loyalty to their local constituents. Even party supporters will admit that it’s not because of a noble cause like former President Roh Moo-hyun abandoning safe Jongno to go down to Busan."
Former professor Jin also mentioned the relationship between lawmaker Kim and Dongyang University. He said, "The founder of Dongyang University, that is, President Choi Seong-hae's father, was Kim Doo-kwan’s mentor," adding, "There was a story that when Kim Doo-kwan was wandering in a difficult environment during his school days, the founder of Dongyang University, who was his teacher, helped him study. I don’t remember exactly, but it is a fact that the founder of Dongyang University was Kim Doo-kwan’s mentor. He also had a personal friendship with President Choi for a long time."

Former professor Jin shared a post on Twitter by the Democratic Party that described President Choi as having "far-right thinking," saying, "When the forgery scandal of Professor Jeong Gyeong-sim’s certificate at Dongyang University broke out, the Democratic Party labeled President Choi as a 'far-right figure' on their official Twitter account," adding, "The Choi I know is just a bit conservative, with no particular political inclination. He was friendly across both left and right, including with Kim Doo-kwan, Yoo Si-min, and Cho Kuk. Yet Kim Doo-kwan did not stop his party from slandering President Choi as far-right."
He continued, "The attempt to portray President Choi as far-right was, of course, a deception to stage Jeong Gyeong-sim as a political conspiracy victim," adding, "If President Choi were far-right, would they have brought someone like me, a far-left communist, to a school in TK (Daegu·Gyeongbuk)?"
Regarding the phone calls made by Yoo Si-min, director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, and lawmaker Kim to President Choi when the 'Cho Kuk’s daughter certificate forgery' suspicion arose last year, he said, "Yoo Si-min called it 'reporting,' and Kim Doo-kwan called it 'fact-checking,' but they will admit that the nature of those calls was one of coaxing," adding, "Seven zombie lawmakers swarmed just to catch a small private university president."
Former professor Jin criticized, "It seems Kim Doo-kwan is trying to exploit Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in again in Yangsan," adding, "Exploiting Moon Jae-in is fine, but selling Roh Moo-hyun’s sacrifice is hard to overlook. The current Democratic Party is neither Kim Dae-jung’s Democratic Party nor Roh Moo-hyun’s Democratic Party, but merely an interest group where the PK (Busan·Gyeongnam) vested interests and some of the Honam vested interests roughly share the spoils."
He also urged the citizens of Yangsan, saying, "Kim Doo-kwan has come down there with the historic mission of recreating the power of a corrupt privileged class that stands above the law and even controls the prosecution," emphasizing, "If you think of him as Moon Jae-in, vote for him, but don’t mistake him for Roh Moo-hyun and vote."
Finally, he said, "Kim Doo-kwan, don’t do politics like that. No, don’t live your life like that," adding, "Your late mentor would be very disappointed watching from heaven."
