[2020 Asia Consumer Awards] Maeil Dairies' 'Absolute', a Masterpiece Including Special Formula... Leading Infant Formula Export to China

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Maeil Dairies' infant formula brand Absolute has scientifically designed its formula based on years of accumulated breast milk and baby stool analysis through the Maeil Asia Breast Milk Research Institute. The "Absolute Nutrition System" applies five core nutrients?brain, vision, growth, immunity, and digestion absorption?to make it closer to breast milk.

Absolute analyzes various components in breast milk such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fatty acids by directly analyzing actual mothers' breast milk. In December 2017, three of Maeil Dairies' Chinese export formula brands?'Absolute Myeongjak' (Aesarak Myeongjak), 'Maeil Gung', and 'Heianji'?passed the infant formula export standards and were officially registered with the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), gaining recognition for their brand and quality.

In July 2019, two special formulas from Maeil Dairies passed Chinese export standards, making it the only domestic company to export two types of special formulas?lactose-free formula and preterm infant formula?to China.

In particular, Absolute has taken the lead in consumer protection. It was the first in Korea to disclose the origin of raw materials on its website, fulfilling consumers' right to know. Through the food traceability service, customers can easily check the product history from raw materials to production and shipment. Every year, about 2,000 pregnant women are invited to factory tours to directly observe the formula production process.

Additionally, since 1999, Maeil Dairies has been the only domestic supplier of eight types and twelve products of special formulas developed purely with in-house technology for infants with congenital metabolic disorders. To support patients and their families, the company operates the "Heart Meal" campaign, raising social awareness and care for congenital metabolic diseases.
