[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kim Byeong-won, a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea in Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, announced on the 29th a plan for the mutual development of Naju's original downtown and the joint innovation city.
Candidate Kim emphasized, "Residents of Bitgaram Innovation City include not only employees of public enterprises and their families but also many who have moved from the original downtown," and added, "A special measure is needed to revitalize the original downtown, which has been experiencing hollowing out since the creation of the innovation city."
He stated, "To achieve mutual development between the innovation city and the original downtown, it is important to establish a cooperative system with the 16 public institutions located in the innovation city," and promised, "I will build a mutual development system between the original downtown and the innovation city by combining the cutting-edge technology of the relocated institutions in the innovation city with the historical and cultural resources of the original downtown."
He continued, "I will achieve the relocation of LG Chem within the district, located in the heart of the old downtown, and attract companies at the LG Group level," and said, "Drawing on my experience leading NongHyup, ranked 9th in the business world, I will do my best to make Naju·Hwasun prosperous."
