According to Jeonnam Province on the 29th, Governor Kim held an emergency quarantine countermeasure meeting attended by the administrative and political vice governors and heads of departments to ensure an all-out response at the provincial level regarding the novel coronavirus.

He also urged, "We need to identify Chinese tourists entering through airports and ports, and especially prepare response measures related to Chinese international students in consultation with the Ministry of Education."

Regarding government measures, he emphasized, "We must also prepare supplementary measures for any shortcomings or parts that do not fit local conditions and actively propose them to the government."

He added, "We must check the possibility of any cases entering our region to prevent even a single confirmed case and focus on preventive activities. We should thoroughly monitor active surveillance subjects in the province and establish step-by-step infection countermeasures in preparation for the spread of infection."
