[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Standards Association announced on the 29th that it has awarded the radon safety product certification to 76 items of Lotte Chemical's 'Radiance Silica-based Artificial Marble,' marking the first time this certification has been granted domestically.
The radon safety product certification is a system in which the Standards Association, in collaboration with Yonsei University Radon Safety Center, developed a radon safety evaluation model to objectively assess the radon emission concentration and management level of products, certifying those that are safe from radon.
Lotte Chemical carries out the processes necessary for Radiance production at its Yeosu plant, develops key materials required for artificial marble manufacturing, and directly produces reliable products using materials that are safe from radon.
Jeon Jin-su, President of the Korea Standards Association, stated, "The silica-based artificial marble produced by Lotte Chemical has obtained the radon safety product certification," adding, "The Korea Standards Association will continue to strive to certify products that are safe and reliable from radon, which causes public concern."
