[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized the Moon Jae-in administration, saying, "Appointing Yoon Seok-youl as Prosecutor General was actually just a showy event."
On the 29th, Jin posted on his Facebook, "Prosecutor General Yoon is someone who has a story like 'I do not pledge loyalty to people,' and 'If you pledge loyalty to people, you're a gangster, not a prosecutor,'" adding, "They needed a slick wrapping to stylishly cover the administration, and the only role expected of Yoon Seok-youl was to be that 'wrapping'."
Jin further stated, "The president expected him to do so and even showed confidence by saying, 'Strike the living power with a sword,'" and claimed, "It just meant to pretend to strike, but Yoon was too straightforward to understand that."
He continued, "They mistakenly thought there was sincerity in his words," adding, "I also believed that until this incident happened, but on the other hand, it was a misjudgment of Yoon Seok-youl. Yoon is not just a prosecutor in name but a real prosecutor, so the fire on his feet came late."
Finally, regarding former presidential chief of staff Lim Jong-seok's public announcement that he will appear before the prosecution on the 30th as a suspect, Jin said, "Lim Jong-seok, please cooperate quietly with the investigation," and pointed out, "If you have something to say, say it to the prosecutor, not the media. You say, 'The people will watch together,' but the people are watching you. The police watch thieves, not the other way around."
