“An 'Like a pot calling the kettle black' talk... Son must have been upset”
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Park Joo-sun, a lawmaker from the Bareunmirae Party, stated on the 29th that regarding the possibility of former lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo founding a new party, “It is difficult to find a justification for former lawmaker Ahn creating a new party due to disputes over leadership authority.”
Through YTN Radio’s ‘Noh Young-hee’s Start of a New Morning’ on the same day, Park said, “If a new party is to be formed, it should be a centrist practical livelihood party that replaces the Democratic Party of Korea and the Liberty Korea Party, and all political forces including the Bareunmirae Party must participate together,” adding, “It is meaningless if Ahn Cheol-soo’s faction does it alone.”
He pointed out, “With the implementation of the mixed-member proportional representation system, new parties are popping up like mushrooms everywhere, with too many ‘new party founders’ and many people addicted to it. That cannot be allowed.”
He added, “Ultimately, it only broadens opportunities for the incompetent, irresponsible, and arrogant Democratic Party, and gives the Liberty Korea Party, which shows no repentance or reflection on state corruption and misconduct, a chance to revive.”
Regarding the conflict between former lawmaker Ahn and Representative Sohn Hak-kyu, Park said, “From Representative Sohn’s perspective, Ahn contacted him more than a week after returning to the country to arrange a meeting, and there had been no contact during that time, which could be seen as discourteous,” adding, “(Ahn) spoke as if ‘a dog with dirt on it is talking about another dog with dirt on it,’ so Sohn was probably displeased and somewhat upset.”
Park stated, “Ahn Cheol-soo himself is also responsible for the Bareunmirae Party being in this state,” and said, “However, since Representative Sohn ruined the party, it seems difficult for him to accept the idea of me stepping in to fix it.”
Park said, “Neither Representative Sohn nor former lawmaker Ahn should take the forefront; instead, they should serve as loyal party members,” and added, “I am asking them to play a driving role in founding a proper centrist practical party in the third political zone.”
