Binggrae Launches Pungsoo Special Products Featuring Pungsoo as Model for Bungeo Samanco and Bbangddoa


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Binggrae announced on the 29th that it has selected EBS creator ‘Pengsoo’ as the model for its representative confectionery-type ice creams, Bungeo Samanco and Bbangddoa.


Binggrae plans to release video advertisements featuring Pengsoo on TV and online channels starting February 1. Additionally, special package products featuring Pengsoo’s image are scheduled for release. From the 3rd, an event will be held where customers who purchase the Pengsoo special package set (consisting of 18 items) through ‘KakaoTalk Gift’ will receive a Pengsoo hand mirror as a free gift.


Binggrae’s connection with Pengsoo began with the ‘Supercone Dance Challenge.’ Pengsoo participated in the Supercone Dance Challenge held by Binggrae last year but was eliminated, ranking 137th. Later, as Pengsoo gained popularity, the topic of Binggrae not recognizing Pengsoo’s potential became a hot issue online. In response, the marketing team at Binggrae, who organized the event, visited Pengsoo in person to clear up misunderstandings, and the video content was uploaded on Pengsoo’s YouTube channel (Giant Peng TV), attracting attention once again.


A Binggrae marketing representative said, “We are very excited to plan marketing for Bungeo Samanco and Bbangddoa with Pengsoo, who is truly a trendsetter,” adding, “In addition to video advertisements and package product releases, we will continue various marketing activities with Pengsoo, including video content production.”
