Park Seonyeong officially announced her resignation on the SBS PowerFM show 'Park Seonyeong's Cinetown' aired on the 28th.

On the broadcast, Park said, "Time flies so fast. It's already the last week of January," and added, "I wished this time wouldn't come, but this week will be the last week I say goodbye on 'Park Seonyeong's Cinetown'."

She said, "My resignation has been decided, so I will be with you only until this Sunday. I tried to delay the farewell as much as possible," and added, "I wanted to tell you myself first, but I heard there was a spoiler yesterday. I feel upset and sorry."

Park also said, "'Popcorn Oppa Movie Song Chewing' corner is also ending today. In that sense, the theme is Park Seonyeong. Song Woojin said he brought a movie that comes to mind when thinking of Park Seonyeong," and added, "Listeners, please recommend movies you want to suggest to 'Ppodi' or movies that come to mind when you think of 'Ppodi'."

Earlier, on December 24 last year, SBS stated, "Announcer Park recently said she would leave the company. However, it is not yet confirmed as discussions with the company are ongoing."

Park Seonyeong joined SBS as part of the 15th public recruitment announcer class in 2007. Just five months after joining, she was selected as the weekend anchor for 'SBS 8 News' and became a flagship announcer. Park earned the nickname 'Bbobbo Girl' for her expression of closing her eyes and puckering her lips when pronouncing certain words.

Announcer Jang Yewon has been chosen as Park's successor. Jang's 'Cinetown' will premiere on February 3.

Meanwhile, there were rumors that Park Seonyeong would be appointed as the successor after Gominjeong, the Blue House spokesperson, resigned to run in the April 15 general election.
