[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Kim Young-jong) held a meeting of the 'Jongno-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' on the 28th regarding the novel coronavirus, announcing that it will actively take measures at the community level to prevent the spread of the virus.


Although no confirmed cases have yet occurred within the district, the meeting was convened to establish a cooperative system among related organizations and share information, as the number of confirmed cases in the country increased to four and the infectious disease crisis alert level was raised to 'Warning.'


According to the meeting results, the district plans to focus on 'strengthening surveillance of suspected patients,' 'enhancing response of local medical institutions,' and 'operating quarantine task forces and the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' to do its utmost to protect residents' health.


Kim Young-jong, Mayor of Jongno-gu, stated, "To alleviate residents' anxiety, we will strengthen the response system by informing them of quarantine and prevention guidelines through various channels."
