TikTok 'Extreme Reversal Challenge' Showcases Creators' Diverse Personalities Garnering Attention

The global short video application TikTok, which has sparked a content creation craze through various participatory challenges, is seeing a surge in participation in the ‘Geukhan Banjeon’ challenge conducted with film director Lee Byung-hun to welcome the New Year 2020.


TikTok, which has been planning new challenges and motivating users for a better internet environment and enjoyment, aimed to provide an opportunity for those dreaming of film and content production to explore the short-form video platform and create vertical videos themselves through this ‘Geukhan Banjeon’ challenge. In particular, this challenge allows anyone to easily participate by simply sharing a short video with a twist on the user-friendly TikTok app, making it a stepping stone for those who aspire to enter the content field but have faced various barriers to fully unleash their creativity.


Starting with content directed by Lee Byung-hun, who brought laughter to 16 million viewers with the film Extreme Job, this challenge invites everyone with diverse personalities to participate, including creators, university students, and the general public, by sharing content that incorporates a twist of fun in their daily lives.


The ‘Geukhan Banjeon’ challenge, which will be judged directly by film director Lee Byung-hun, is heating up with a variety of entries ranging from comedic content made with simple twists to witty content enhanced by TikTok’s diverse video techniques.


TikTok, which has worked with leading domestic companies and brands through various collaborations to enable users to share creative expressions in an optimized environment, stated, “We hope that through this challenge, users will enjoy diverse content in newer and more differentiated ways.”


Ending on Friday, January 31, this challenge is open to all ages on the TikTok app with the hashtag #극한반전 and is attracting significant attention among aspiring creators and video professionals with a total prize pool of 25 million KRW.


The results of the ‘Geukhan Banjeon’ challenge, inspired by director Lee Byung-hun, who is recognized as a next-generation director, and his representative work Extreme Job, will be announced on Friday, February 7, on the TikTok app.
