[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Won Jong-geon (27), the second talent recruit of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 28th regarding the 'Me too (Me too·I was also a victim)' allegations, calling him "a talent that aligns with the identity of the Democratic Party."
In a post on Facebook that day, former professor Jin said, "I oppose the withdrawal of Won Jong-geon's recruitment," and criticized, "Shouting feminism with words but practicing misogyny and date rape with actions. This hypocrisy is precisely the core value of the Democratic Party that the party, government, and its supporters have risked their lives to protect over the past few months."
He continued, "'Honestly, who among you has never been hypocritical?' 'Is there anyone in the world who is clean without a grain of hypocrisy?' Isn't this the philosophy of the Democratic Party?" and pointed out, "This guy is the second Cho Kuk, Cho Kuk Junior."
Former professor Jin said, "The party should especially take care of (Won Jong-geon)," and raised his voice in criticism, saying, "He is a young talent who perfectly fits the identity of the Democratic Party. It would be perfect to send him out as a set with Jeong Bong-ju. It is a visual message that the tradition of the Democratic Party is passed down from generation to generation."
Regarding the Liberty Korea Party, he also said, "The Korean Party should shut up too. I heard that they also tried to take this guy in," and added, "First, verify the facts."
On the 27th, a woman A, who identified herself as Won's ex-girlfriend, posted on an online community, claiming, "Won continuously treated me, his girlfriend, as a sexual object and tormented me with misogyny and gaslighting."
A said, "The actions Won took were clearly dating violence, and I sincerely wanted an apology, but he never said he was sorry at all," and explained, "If you search only for Won Jong-geon on Google, 'Me too' automatically follows. Although it has been removed now, the term used to appear on Naver as well."
She added, "I am not afraid at all of being sued for defamation. The incidents I mentioned are clear facts based on evidence and actual experience, so if I am sued for defamation by stating facts, it means admitting his atrocities," and said, "Even if he is not a public figure, this is an incident that deserves criticism, and I think it is wrong to let it go like this."
