Check Only the Submitting Institution Instead of Complex Selection Options
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The process of issuing resident registration certificates and extracts at unmanned civil service kiosks will become easier and more convenient.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 27th that it has developed a "simple service for unmanned civil service kiosks" that only requires selecting the purpose of issuance, and will provide it at over 4,200 unmanned civil service kiosks nationwide starting this month.
Previously, when issuing resident registration certificates or extracts at unmanned kiosks, users had to individually select whether to include items such as past address changes, the last digits of the resident registration number, and the relationship with the head of the household. There were 9 selectable items for certificates and 8 for extracts, with about 20 selection screens.
With the new service applied to unmanned kiosks, these complicated selection items and screens have been removed. Users only need to select the purpose of issuance based on the institution to which they intend to submit the document, and the selection items will be automatically filled accordingly.
For certificates, users can choose from five submission destinations: courts, educational institutions, public institutions, real estate contracts, financial institutions, and hospitals. For extracts, users can select from five options: courts (registrar's office), educational institutions, public institutions, financial institutions, and personal verification, according to their needs. Users who wish to select individual detailed items can still use the existing method to issue documents.
Lee Jae-young, Director of Government Innovation Organization at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "This is to enhance administrative convenience so that resident registration certificates and extracts can be issued more easily and simply," adding, "We will continue to improve the unmanned civil service kiosk services from the user's perspective."
