[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun visited Incheon International Airport on the 24th to inspect the quarantine measures against the novel coronavirus infection, commonly known as 'Wuhan Pneumonia.'
Prime Minister Chung stated, "Considering the cases of the first patient and the patient confirmed this morning, I believe the quarantine system is functioning well," and added, "I hope that quarantine will continue to be thorough without any gaps."
After receiving a report on the quarantine situation, Prime Minister Chung toured the quarantine process for arrivals at Terminal 1, including temperature checks, collection of health questionnaires, and disinfection of the arrival area. He said, "If there is a shortage of personnel, work may be neglected, so necessary measures should be taken promptly to ensure proper quarantine even if the volume of quarantine increases significantly."
He then encouraged quarantine officers who are busy during the holiday season. On the same day in the afternoon, Prime Minister Chung planned to hold an emergency meeting with related agencies at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters in the Government Seoul Office to discuss countermeasures against Wuhan Pneumonia.
