[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 23rd, Yeosu Mayor Kwon Obong announced that he began full-scale Lunar New Year consolation activities starting from the Milal Sarang Senior Nursing Home located in Yulchon-myeon over two days from the 22nd.


Mayor Kwon visited 10 social welfare facilities including Jindallae Village, Dongbaekwon, Ae-an Pyeongan Nursing Home, and Seokchang Regional Children's Center to check on the well-being of the elderly and children, delivering Yeosu gift certificates, local specialties, fruits, and other consolation items while conveying New Year greetings.


The Yeosu Deputy Mayor and senior officials also visited welfare facilities, and the heads of eup, myeon, and dong districts collaborated with local philanthropists, institutions, and organizations to care for vulnerable groups during the winter season in welfare blind spots, leading efforts to create a warm Lunar New Year atmosphere filled with compassion.


By the 23rd, the city had consoled 500 low-income households and 60 welfare facilities, delivering consolation items worth approximately 53 million won.


Yeosu Mayor Kwon Obong said, “Although conditions are difficult, sharing together halves sorrow and doubles joy,” and added, “I hope our neighbors are not left out and that everyone has a joyful Lunar New Year.”
