The Korean Dance Association announced on the 23rd that the recipients of last year's Dance Arts Awards were Honorary Professor Yang Jeong-su of Suwon University (Modern Dance), Chairperson Park In-ja of the Professional Dancer Support Center (Ballet), Director In Nam-sun of the Korean Traditional Culture Research Institute (Korean Traditional Dance), and Director Jeong Hye-jin of the Seoul City Dance Company (Korean Creative Dance). Honorary Professor Yang was recognized for developing an original dance language that opened a new chapter in modern dance. Chairperson Park was acknowledged for her efforts to improve the artistic environment and activities of dance artists. Director In received high marks for her professional research on the comprehensive artistry of Korean traditional culture, and Director Jeong was praised for creating original choreography by utilizing modern dance and Korean dance. The awards ceremony will be held on the 28th at the Artist's House in Daehangno, Seoul.
