[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Mokpo National University Science Gifted Education Center (Director Professor Lee Yong-hoon) announced on the 23rd that it held a completion ceremony on the 21st at the Mokpo National University 70th Anniversary Memorial Hall Auditorium.


About 200 people, including students of the Science Gifted Education Center, parents, and supervising professors, attended the completion ceremony to celebrate the students' completion of the program.


At the event, a total of 106 students received certificates of completion directly from the professors who guided them for one year: 49 students from the Elementary Advanced Convergence Talent Course, 22 from the Middle School Advanced Convergence Talent Course, 29 from the Middle School Basic History Course, and 8 from the Middle School History Course.


Additionally, awards such as the Best Award and Special Award by curriculum were presented to students who demonstrated outstanding activities and remarkable potential throughout the one-year educational program, making the occasion meaningful.


Director Lee Yong-hoon said, “The students who completed the Mokpo National University Science Gifted Education Center are precious scientific talents of our region and country. I hope this completion ceremony will be the first step for our students to find fulfillment in life through scientific achievements and grow into individuals who contribute to the community 20 or 30 years from now.”


Established in 2004, the Mokpo National University Science Gifted Education Center practices gifted education aimed at cultivating future-oriented humanity with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity’s science and technology promotion fund and lottery fund, as well as Mokpo National University. It strives to nurture healthy and independent science gifted students, as well as unique and creative science gifted students.
