[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA) announced on the 22nd that it has delivered the funds raised through the 'KIRIA Donation Fund' to a social welfare organization for the first time.

The KIRIA Donation Fund is a donation culture where the institute's employees voluntarily deduct a portion of their monthly salary each month to collect funds. It was established last year and is operated through the voluntary participation of executives and staff.

On this day, the institute visited Hope House in Buk-gu, Daegu, a sister childcare facility, and delivered 1.55 million KRW from the donation fund along with daily necessities.

Since 2011, the year after its establishment, the institute has conducted social contribution activities by visiting Hope House every holiday season to deliver daily necessities and other items.

Since 2016, the institute has provided robot assembly and software education through employees' talent donations annually to the children at Hope House.

Hope House presented a certificate of appreciation to the institute for its donation activities and talent-donated robot education.

Moon Jeon-il, the institute's president, said, "It was especially meaningful to deliver the donation fund, which was voluntarily raised by employees, for the first time," adding, "We will continue to strive to expand win-win cooperation with the local community by fostering a culture of sharing through social contribution activities."

As a public institution, the institute is engaged in social contribution activities such as the Bookbridge book donation event, Love Blood Donation Campaign, Volunteer Day operations, and employee talent-donated robot education.
