[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] NextBT announced on the 22nd that it has acquired the health functional food brand ‘Meogeodojoha’.
‘Meogeodojoha’ is a domestic health functional food brand launched in 2013 by Pi105 Co., Ltd. The flagship product, ‘Meogeodojoha,’ helps reduce body fat by inhibiting the synthesis of carbohydrates into fat. It ranked first in the 'KCPBA (Korea Consumer Preference Brand Awards) 2015 Consumer Preference' and 'KQSI (Korea Quality Service Index) 2016 Quality Satisfaction.'
Along with the brand acquisition, NextBT obtained online domain-related business rights and trademark rights in China and Korea. The company plans to increase market share based on utilizing domestic and international sales networks and aggressive sales activities.
A company official stated, “Based on the flagship product ‘Meogeodojoha,’ which has recorded cumulative sales of 200,000 units sold out, we will expand the product lineup to further solidify our market position,” adding, “Since we acquired a finished product brand that is currently actively sold, it will be quickly reflected in our performance.” He emphasized, “Mid- to long-term performance growth is expected through diversification of revenue sources such as individual ingredient recognition and brand acquisition.”
Last November, NextBT obtained individual recognition from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a rosemary grapefruit extract complex with skin health benefits through its subsidiary NaturalFNP.
