Fire at Factory in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju... No Casualties Reported

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the afternoon of the 21st, a fire broke out at a factory in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

According to the Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju on the 22nd, a report was received around 9:32 PM the previous day about a fire at a mold factory in Imgok-dong.

The dispatched firefighters completely extinguished the fire in about 15 minutes, and no casualties were reported.

Mold machines and fixtures were destroyed, and soot damage occurred inside the factory, with property damage estimated by the fire station at 10 million KRW.

The fire authorities estimate that the fire was caused by mechanical factors in the mold machine (cutting machine) inside the factory and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
