[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo stated that "I plan to move my residence to Miryang on February 3rd and begin full-scale preparations for the general election."
On the 22nd, Hong posted on his Facebook, saying, "It is too late to run in another area."
Hong said, "There is no constitutional basis or political reason to restrict party members' freedom to choose their electoral districts in the Liberty Korea Party, which advocates freedom," adding, "I believe that some forces are trying to politically remove me from the party by suddenly designating my candidacy area through unilateral notification via the media without prior discussion."
He continued, "I am not a marble in a pocket. If I served in the front lines 20 years ago, I hope you understand that I also have the right to serve in the rear, which may be unstable before my final discharge, and to firmly protect the rear."
He then emphasized, "Like a rhinoceros horn, I will silently go my own way. That is the path to serve the party and the country."
