Expansion of Scope to a Three-Carrier System Following Existing SKT and KT Networks
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG HelloVision Hello Mobile announced on the 22nd that it has launched LG Uplus network MVNO services and started selling products through offline stores and the direct mall. This expands the service coverage following the existing SK Telecom and KT networks.
Song Gu-young, CEO of LG HelloVision, said, "With the launch of the LG Uplus network, we have established a service system encompassing the three major telecom companies," adding, "We will accelerate innovation in customer value and play a pioneering role in revitalizing MVNOs in the 5G era."
The LG Uplus network plans introduced this time consist of a total of 49 types. Representative plans include ▲8 LTE-type plans with no data worries ▲15 steady-seller plans ▲20 LTE mid-to-low price plans. In addition, there are specialized lineups such as youth plans and tablet-only plans.
A representative plan targeting customers in their 20s and 30s who use a lot of data is the 'No Data Worries Plan.' Even after the basic data allowance is exhausted, users can continue to use data without additional charges. It offers a large data volume of about 150GB per month for 39,850 KRW. The existing 'The Good Data Plan,' which provides unlimited voice and text with selectable data, is structured as a lineup starting from the 10,000 KRW range per month.
A new 'Slim and Universal Plan' was also established for customers who want to reduce their communication expenses. The Slim plan is a product that provides a small amount of data for a basic fee under 10,000 KRW per month (based on USIM plans). The Universal plan offers up to 15GB of data with a basic fee in the 10,000 to 20,000 KRW range per month (based on USIM plans).
LG HelloVision also announced plans to offer 5G USIM plans with lower basic fees or increased data allowances compared to other companies. Meanwhile, three mid-range models for the LG Uplus network new devices were released: ▲LG X6 ▲LG Q9 ▲Galaxy A50. Six existing devices, including 'LG X4' and 'Galaxy A30,' are also provided on the LG Uplus network.
