T'way Air Postpones Launch of New Incheon-Wuhan Route

Delay Decision on New Flight Launch Day Due to Spread of 'Jungguk Wuhan Pneumonia'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] T'way Air has postponed the launch schedule of the Incheon?China Wuhan (武漢) route. This is interpreted as a result of ongoing concerns following the spread of the so-called 'China Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus)' and the occurrence of the first confirmed case in South Korea.

According to T'way Air on the 21st, flight TW0615, which was scheduled to depart from Incheon International Airport at 10:20 PM and operate to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, has been postponed. This flight was to be the first operation on T'way Air's Incheon?Wuhan route (twice weekly).

Until the afternoon of the same day, T'way Air had maintained the position that the Incheon?Wuhan route would "operate without changes." However, after Chinese health authorities indicated the possibility of 'human-to-human transmission' and countries around the world tightened controls on travelers coming from China, the situation rapidly escalated, leading the airline to proactively choose to postpone the launch.

A T'way Air official stated, "The date for the postponed launch has not been decided."

Meanwhile, China Southern Airlines and Korean Air currently operate on the Incheon?Wuhan route.
