Pohang City Opens Public Parking Lots Free of Charge During Lunar New Year Holiday

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 21st that it will open public parking lots free of charge for four days from the 24th to the 27th during the Lunar New Year holiday to provide parking convenience for visitors returning to their hometowns and citizens.

The free parking lots include 17 locations with 1,669 spaces, such as major on-street parking lots in the city excluding three congested parking lots near Jukdo Market (Jukdo Fish Market, Chilseongcheon, Ogeori), as well as KTX Pohang Station, Daeidong, and Yeongildae public parking lots.

Even during the free opening period, public parking lots within Jukdo Market, where parking and traffic congestion are expected, will have parking attendants and employees from the management corporation on emergency duty to guide parking and induce vehicle dispersion.

Shim Deok-bo, Director of Pohang City Facilities Management Corporation, said, “We hope that the free opening of public parking lots will be a small help for visitors returning to their hometowns and citizens to have a joyful holiday with their families.”
