Full Award from Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's 2019 Private School Institution Operation Evaluation Excellence Award... Second Donation Since 2016

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th at 3:30 PM, Haesung Academy (Haesung Girls' High School, Haesung International Convention High School), a school foundation located in Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol), visited the Dongdaemun District Office to donate 8 million won as a love fund for the '2020 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign.'

The donation ceremony was attended by a total of five school officials, including Ham In-sook, director of Haesung Academy, Kim Jong-gap, principal of Haesung International Convention High School, and Song Yeon-sik, principal of Haesung Girls' High School.

Haesung Academy was selected as an 'Outstanding Institution in Comprehensive Evaluation' (Comprehensive Excellence Award) in the 2019 Private School Institution Operation Evaluation conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education targeting 123 school foundations operating elementary and secondary schools to enhance the public nature and accountability of private school institutions. They donated the entire prize money received to help neighbors in need in the community.

In December 2016, Haesung Academy also donated the entire prize money of 3.93 million won, received as an outstanding institution in the 2016 Private School Institution Operation Evaluation, to Dongdaemun-gu to support elderly people living alone in the district.

The district plans to use the donated funds to assist neighbors in need within the community.

Yoo Deok-yeol, mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed his gratitude, saying, "We thank Haesung Academy for not only operating Haesung Girls' High School and Haesung International Convention High School, which are representative schools in our area, to nurture local talent but also for generously donating the entire prize money received from the private school institution operation evaluation again this year, following 2016, to help neighbors in need." He added, "The donation will be used meaningfully to support those in need in the community."
