[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shinsegae Group Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee and Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin visited the funeral hall of the late Shin Kyuk-ho, Honorary Chairman of Lotte Group and a 'rival in the distribution industry,' to pay their respects.

Chairwoman Lee and Vice Chairman Chung arrived at Seoul Asan Medical Center, where the late Honorary Chairman Shin's funeral hall was set up, at around 2:05 p.m. on the 21st. About 10 group executives, including Emart CEO Kang Hee-seok and Shinsegae International CEO Jang Jae-young, accompanied them.

While the executives finished their condolences quickly and left, Chairwoman Lee and Vice Chairman Chung stayed for about 45 minutes to console the bereaved family, including Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin.

After paying respects, Chairwoman Lee told reporters, "I have been a longtime friend of former Chairwoman Shin Young-ja," and added, "I talked a lot about old times with Chairman Shin Dong-bin."

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman Chung, who attracted attention for the meeting of the 'rivals in the distribution industry' that day, left the funeral hall in a hurry without saying anything after paying his respects.
