[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Kang Seung-soo, chairman of Hanssem, said on the 21st, "We will achieve sales of 10 trillion won in as soon as 3 years, or at most 7 years."

At a New Year's press conference held at the Sangam headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Chairman Kang said, "Regarding the 10 trillion won target, outsiders may think it will not be easy, but considering it as a mid-term goal over 7 years, I believe it is definitely achievable. It is a challenging but feasible goal."

He continued, "We expect Rehouse to drive sales," and added, "Internally, we expect that the Rehouse business alone can generate about 5 trillion won in sales."

Hanssem plans to establish a management system centered on five business divisions?Rehouse, Online, Kitchenbach, Interior, and Special Sales?to achieve 10 trillion won in domestic market sales. In particular, Hanssem intends to operate so that each business division can make decisions with its own mid-term management goals.

Lee Young-sik, vice chairman of Hanssem, explained, "We aim to achieve 5 trillion won through Rehouse, 200 million won through online establishment, 1 trillion won each from the existing business-focused Kitchenbach and Interior businesses, and 1 trillion won from the B2B business, Special Sales."

The Rehouse division plans to expand the standard store model, a win-win type store, to 50 commercial districts nationwide. To this end, Hanssem developed the Hanssem Rehouse Style Package and plans to increase the number of Rehouse designers from the current 500 to 700 to 2,500 within the year. They also plan to reduce remodeling construction, which currently takes more than two weeks, to a maximum of 5 days. Hanssem has set a goal of selling 10,000 sets of the Hanssem Rehouse Style Package per month.

Regarding overseas market expansion, Hanssem plans to take this year as an opportunity for "reorganization." Based on its experience entering Shanghai, China in 2017, Hanssem plans to expand into the U.S., Japan, and Southeast Asian markets. Chairman Kang said, "In China, we promoted business centered on offline stores, but lacked experience in local sales networks and online marketing," adding, "Not only in China but also in the U.S. and Japan, we plan to introduce an online-offline integrated platform approach that can work in local markets."

Meanwhile, Chairman Kang gave a positive evaluation of the government's strong real estate loan regulation policies. He said, "While a decrease in housing sales is a negative factor for selling individual products such as kitchens, I think it will be a positive factor for the remodeling business, Rehouse."
