[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] Former Chief of Staff Lim Jong-seok will deliver a broadcast speech on the Democratic Party of Korea's platform and policies on the afternoon of the 21st. This marks Lim's first official event since he announced he would not run last November.

The Democratic Party stated in a press release that "From the 21st for two days, we will conduct broadcast speeches under the theme 'Let's move toward shared prosperity through coexistence and cooperation,'" adding, "The main speakers will be former Chief of Staff Lim, representing Yeonghonam, and Assemblyman Kim Boo-kyum."

According to the Democratic Party, former Chief Lim plans to appeal to the government and ruling party to maintain momentum for dialogue among South Korea, North Korea, and the United States through coexistence and cooperation, complete peace on the Korean Peninsula, and ensure the efforts of the Moon Jae-in administration bear fruit. Assemblyman Kim will emphasize politics of national unity that transcends party lines and coexistence of progressives and conservatives, urging the restoration of politics based on dialogue and compromise.

A Democratic Party official said, "We will present policies and the party's vision that warmly improve the lives of the people and inspire the public through new figures," adding, "With the determination that this general election will realize an inclusive nation where everyone prospers together and serve as the foundation for peace and shared prosperity, we will spare no effort to achieve electoral victory."
