[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] SK Telecom announced that starting from the 21st, it will hold various events including fee discounts for elementary school student subscribers preparing for the new semester.
The event, called the "ZEM Fun New Semester" promotion, runs until the end of March. First, elementary school customers who subscribe to the ZEM Plan will receive a 50% discount on their communication fees for three months. Customers who purchase the ZEM-exclusive phone released in February, as well as existing mini phones and the 'LG X2 ZEM' smartphone, by the 17th of next month will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Additionally, 'T Day Membership' benefits are prepared for children and families to use during winter vacation and the new semester. Detailed benefit information will be available on the T Membership website on the 30th.
SK Telecom also plans to upgrade and provide the ZEM service application, launched in October last year, free of charge. According to an internal survey of app users, 82% of customers are satisfied with the provided features. 87% responded that they would recommend it to others, and the most used features were managing children's smartphone usage time (90%), smartphone mode management (89%), and location tracking (82%).
The ZEM service app's Safety Care feature has also been enhanced. When children use their smartphones while walking, the notification function, which was previously a single-level alert, has been subdivided into three levels. The ZEM service app can be used by anyone whose child is an SK Telecom subscriber, regardless of the parent's mobile carrier. Furthermore, middle and high school students and university students preparing for the new semester can purchase the latest laptops with discounts up to 670,000 KRW, receive up to 3GB of campus data, and enjoy discounts on FLO mobile unlimited streaming, among other benefits.
Han Myung-jin, head of SK Telecom's MNO Marketing Group, said, "We will continue to provide various services and strengthen benefits so that elementary, middle, and high school students can trust and use us as their mobile communication partner."
