[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The government will submit 186 bills under the jurisdiction of 26 ministries to the National Assembly this year.
On the 21st, the Ministry of Government Legislation announced this after reporting the government's legislative plan for this year at the Cabinet meeting.
According to the legislative plan reported on this day, 5 new enactment bills including the "Administrative Basic Act," 7 complete revision bills including the "Radio Waves Act," and 174 partial amendment bills including the "Framework Act on National Taxes" are scheduled to be submitted.
After the opening of the 21st National Assembly in June, 181 bills, accounting for 97.3% of all bills submitted, will be submitted.
The Ministry of Government Legislation highlighted the amendment bill of the "Act on the Promotion of Employment and Vocational Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons" as a major bill included in the plan. This bill aims to raise the mandatory employment rate for disabled persons over five years from this year to 2024.
Other bills included the amendment of the "Local Education Autonomy Act," the amendment of the "Medical Care Assistance Act," and the enactment of the "Administrative Basic Act."
The Ministry of Government Legislation establishes the government's legislative plan by compiling and coordinating the enactment and amendment plans of each ministry to legislate major policies the government intends to promote each year.
Once the plan is established, it is reported to the Cabinet meeting and notified to the National Assembly by January 31 every year in accordance with the National Assembly Act.
