Muan-gun Implements Budget Training to Foster an Honest Public Service Culture

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 20th that it conducted an "Integrity Education to Prevent Illegal and Improper Budget Expenditures" on the 17th at the county office meeting room for about 100 budget officers from all departments and teams across the county.

This education was organized by the audit department and focused on essential points that budget and expenditure officers must be aware of, based on the audit analysis results and various audit cases conducted last year, as well as cases that could be easily overlooked due to carelessness.

The education content covered laws and audit case studies mainly related to contracts and expenditures, including the Local Contract Act, standards for bidding and contract execution by local governments, standards for executing local government expenditure budgets, and Muan County financial accounting regulations.

Additionally, the education included the code of conduct that public officials must observe and the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, aiming to ensure clean and transparent expenditure activities so that the administration can gain greater trust from the residents.

Choi Young-in, head of the audit team, said, "We plan to continue providing various practical trainings such as civil service handling procedures to enhance the efficiency and reliability of county administration," adding, "Since there are many newly appointed public officials with less than two years of service, warm and sincere advice and management from senior public officials in each department are necessary to prevent them from committing illegal acts out of ignorance."
