On the 20th, Lee Yong-pyo, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a press conference regarding Kim's accusation case, "Kim was investigated as the accused on the 15th, and we are analyzing the secured materials," adding, "Depending on the progress, we may re-summon if necessary."
Earlier, Kim appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul and was investigated for about 12 hours before returning home. After the investigation, Kim expressed his grievance, saying, "I answered sincerely during the police investigation and hope the truth will be revealed as soon as possible."
On the YouTube channel "Garo Sero Research Institute," featuring lawyer Kang Yong-seok and others, it was claimed that Ms. A, who worked at a nightclub in August 2016, was sexually assaulted by Kim. On the 9th of last month, Ms. A filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office through lawyer Kang and others, and the Gangnam Police Station, which received the case, is conducting an investigation. In response, Kim filed a counter-complaint against Ms. A at the Gangnam Police Station on charges of defamation and false accusation.
Meanwhile, the police are also intensifying their investigation into the "celebrity mobile phone hacking case." Actor Joo Jin-mo (45), who was a victim of hacking, filed a complaint against the hackers on the 16th of this month. Commissioner Lee said, "We plan to investigate the complainant soon," and added, "We will also conduct a fair investigation into acts of distributing or reproducing text messages or videos."
