The film Parasite became the first foreign-language film to win an editing award from the American Cinema Editors (ACE).
Local media outlets such as Variety reported on the 17th (local time) that Parasite editor Yang Jin-mo won the award for Best Edited Feature Film ? Dramatic at the ACE Eddie Awards, beating Michael McCusker for Ford v Ferrari, Jeff Groth for Joker, Selma Schuemaker for The Irishman, and Jennifer Lame for Marriage Story. This marks the first time in the history of the awards that a foreign-language film has won.
The American Cinema Editors was established in 1950 as an organization for film editors. Membership requires a voting process. The ACE Eddie Awards have been held since 1962. Parasite is also aiming for the editing award at the Academy Awards ceremony to be held on the 9th of next month.
