[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 20th that it has appointed Lee Hee-beom, former Minister of Industry and Resources, as the inaugural CEO of the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation.


The Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation was established in July last year by expanding and reorganizing the Gyeongbuk Cultural Research Institute, and officially began operations this month.


CEO Lee was born in Andong, Gyeongbuk, graduated from Seoul National University, and ranked first in the 12th Administrative Examination. He has served as Minister of Industry and Resources, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, Vice Chairman of LG Sangsa, and Chairman of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.


He expressed his ambition, saying, "I will do my best to inherit the traditions of Gyeongsangbuk-do, promote regional culture and arts, and support the creative cultural activities of the residents."
