[Shin Kyuk-ho's Passing] Funeral as Lotte Group Funeral... [Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] Former Prime Minister Lee Hong-gu and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon have been appointed as honorary funeral committee chairmen for the funeral of the late Shin Kyuk-ho, Honorary Chairman of Lotte Group.


The funeral committee chairmen will be Hwang Kak-gyu and Song Yong-duk, CEOs of Lotte Holdings.


The funeral procedures for Chairman Shin, who passed away at 4:29 PM on the 19th, will be held as a group funeral until the 22nd. The funeral hall is set up at Seoul Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and the cremation will take place at 6 AM on the 22nd.


Lotte Group plans to hold a farewell ceremony at 7 AM on the 22nd at the Lotte Concert Hall on the 8th floor of Lotte World Mall in Seoul after the cremation.


Honorary Chairman Shin’s condition rapidly worsened on the night of the 18th while hospitalized at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and he passed away at around 4:29 PM on the 19th, surrounded by family including Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin.


Lotte Group stated, "In accordance with the late chairman’s practice of simplicity and modesty, we respectfully decline condolence money and floral tributes, and ask for your kind understanding."
