[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] KEPCO Industrial Development visited the Bapper Sharing Movement Headquarters located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul on the 17th to carry out social contribution activities for the Lunar New Year.
On this day, Yang Seung-tae, Head of the Management Headquarters, and Choi Cheol-soon, Chairman of the KEPCO Industrial Development Labor Union, along with about 30 members of the KEPCO Industrial Nanuri Volunteer Group, visited the Bapper Sharing Movement Headquarters and delivered 1 ton of rice and 0.5 tons of rice cake soup rice cakes. They also participated in overall meal service volunteer work such as preparing ingredients, cooking, serving, and dishwashing for the food-insecure neighbors visiting Bapper.
Head Yang visited Chairman Choi Il-do of the Dail Community and the 'Dail Angel Hospital' operated by the Dail Community to inspect the hospital facilities and jointly explore social contribution plans that KEPCO Industrial can support in the future.
Bapper is the largest free meal service facility in Korea, providing meals daily to about 1,000 food-insecure neighbors including elderly people living alone, wanderers, and homeless individuals. Since starting volunteer activities at Bapper in March 2017, KEPCO Industrial has participated annually in delivering love rice and meal service volunteer activities to support food-insecure neighbors.
Head Yang stated, "In the year of 2020, the Year of the Rat, KEPCO Industrial will faithfully fulfill its corporate social responsibility by actively supporting the welfare-disadvantaged groups within our society."
Chairman Choi said, "The KEPCO Industrial Development Labor Union will actively participate in various social contribution activities carried out by the company and provide wholehearted support so that labor and management can realize the 'value of sharing.'"
