Promotion of Guidelines for Practicing Greenhouse Gas Reduction
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Ulsan City announced that on the 17th at 2 p.m., it will conduct an 'Eco-friendly Lunar New Year Campaign' around Lotte Department Store and the intercity and express bus terminals ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
About 100 people, including members of Ulsan City, Ulsan Climate and Environment Network, and the Green Leader Council, will participate in the campaign.
During this campaign, eco-friendly Lunar New Year practices that citizens can easily participate in will be actively promoted to reduce greenhouse gases and have a more meaningful holiday.
The main practice guidelines include 'Choose eco-friendly products for holiday gifts and purchase with a Green Card,' 'Prepare only as much holiday food as you can eat,' 'Do not use disposable products when visiting ancestral graves,' 'Use public transportation when traveling to your hometown,' and 'Drive eco-friendly when using a private car.'
Districts and counties will also conduct their own 'Eco-friendly Lunar New Year Campaign' with local private organizations until the 22nd at places with heavy foot traffic such as Byeongnyeong Five-way Intersection, Suam Market, Daesong Agricultural and Marine Products Market, Hansol Green Park in Songjeong-dong, and Eonyang Alps Market.
Kim Byung-jo, head of the Environmental Ecology Division of Ulsan City, said, "Even small practices in daily life greatly help reduce greenhouse gases," and added, "We hope citizens have a more meaningful and happy Lunar New Year by practicing eco-friendly holiday guidelines."
