[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori Financial Group announced on the 17th that it donated approximately 2 tons (2210kg) of rice, received as a congratulatory gift at the Woori Financial Group's 1st anniversary and Woori Bank's 121st anniversary ceremony held on the 16th, to three social welfare facilities including Sindang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center located in Jung-gu, Seoul.


At the Woori Financial Group's anniversary ceremony on the 10th, Chairman Sohn Tae-seung held a 'Co-management (同行經營)' proclamation ceremony with executives and employees to become a reliable partner for customers, and expressed his intention to share the rice received as a congratulatory gift for the holding company and bank anniversary ceremonies with neighbors in need.


Accordingly, Choi Dong-soo, Executive Vice President of Management Support, and Jo Soo-hyung, Vice President of Woori Bank Consumer Brand Group, personally visited Sindang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center to hold a 'Love Rice' delivery ceremony. In addition, rice was delivered to Yeongnak Orphanage in Seongbuk-gu and Sangnong Welfare Foundation in Guro-gu. These welfare institutions plan to distribute the rice to elderly living alone and low-income families in their respective areas in celebration of the Lunar New Year.


Chairman Sohn Tae-seung said, "Woori Financial Group has been able to grow steadily because of the trust and love of our customers," and added, "Through this donation, we will try to repay the love of our customers even a little and share that love with neighbors in need."


Woori Financial donated 3 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea on the 13th and has been carrying out various sharing activities, such as the 'Woori Hope Santa' campaign on the 17th of last month, delivering Christmas gifts to 1,000 children from marginalized groups in celebration of Christmas.
