On the 10th, the district signed a 'Birth Encouragement Agreement' with Haengdang Saemaeul Geumgo to provide birth celebration funds to encourage childbirth in the area. Haengdang Saemaeul Geumgo will support 100,000 KRW per newborn upon opening a birth celebration bankbook, and Haengdang 2-dong will provide information such as guidance on opening the bankbook to residents visiting for birth registration.
The support targets newborns registered as residents of Haengdang 2-dong, from birth registrations dated January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020, covering one year. The bankbook must be a deposit or savings account in the child's name; checking accounts are not eligible. Required documents include a resident registration certificate, child's basic certificate (detailed), parents' ID cards, and seals.
Kim Il-tae, Chairman of Haengdang Saemaeul Geumgo, said, "As a financial institution for ordinary citizens, Saemaeul Geumgo is actively participating in the birth encouragement fund support project as part of its pro-citizen policy for community return."
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "I believe it is very meaningful that the public and private sectors are deeply interested and participating together in the low birthrate issue," adding, "We will continue to pay attention and make efforts to ensure that such mutual cooperation for solving social problems can be sustained."
