[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] SK Engineering & Construction announced on the 16th that it will supply 10,966 housing units across five complexes this year, of which 5,258 units will be available for general sale.
All the housing supplied this year are redevelopment complexes and consortium projects. Among them, two complexes are consortium projects in which SK Engineering & Construction holds a majority stake.
The first project is the 'Maegyo Station Prugio SK View,' supplied next month through the redevelopment of Paldal 8 District in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. This complex is supplied as a consortium with Daewoo Engineering & Construction and consists of 52 buildings ranging from three basement floors to 20 above-ground floors, totaling 3,603 units, with 1,795 units for general sale. SK Engineering & Construction holds a 40% stake in 1,441 of these units and will offer 718 units for general sale.
The Paldal District area has been very popular, as seen in the recent subscription for Paldal 6 District's 'Hillstate Prugio Suwon,' which attracted 74,519 applicants for 951 units, recording an average competition rate of 78.4 to 1. Therefore, fierce subscription competition is also expected for this complex.
In May, the 'Bupyeong Bugaeseo Elementary School Redevelopment' will be offered. This complex, constructed as a consortium between SK Engineering & Construction and Hanjin Heavy Industries, will consist of 1,559 units. SK Engineering & Construction holds a 60% stake and will offer 530 units for general sale. The total number of units for general sale is 884.
Following that, sales are planned to continue for three months from September to November. In September, the company will supply units in Susaek 13 District, Eunpyeong District, Seoul. This project consists of 1,464 units (188 for general sale), with SK Engineering & Construction holding a 50.5% stake. The remaining stake is held by HDC Hyundai Development Company.
The Yangjeong 1 District in Busanjin District, Busan, and the 113-6 District in Gwonseon District, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, will be offered in October and November, respectively. Both projects are joint ventures involving three companies, including SK Engineering & Construction.
Yangjeong 1 District, with a total of 2,276 units, will have 1,160 units for general sale. The lead company, GS Engineering & Construction, holds a 40% stake, while SK Engineering & Construction and POSCO Engineering & Construction each hold 30%. The 113-6 District in Suwon is of a similar scale, with a total of 2,064 units and 1,231 units for general sale. SK Engineering & Construction holds a 30% stake, with Samsung C&T holding 40% and Kolon Engineering & Construction holding 30% in this project.
